Young researchers from the IGF have been honored with the French Prize for “Major Advances in Biology”.

 

The awards ceremony took place during a special public session in the Grand Hall of the Institut de France in Paris on June 16, 2026.

 

The “Major French Advances in Biology” awards, presented by the French Academy of Sciences, recognize young researchers who have made significant scientific breakthroughs in biology.

 

For the 2026 edition, Pierre-André Lafon and Mathieu Oosterlaken, under the supervision of Philippe Rondard, Jean-Philippe Pin (IGF, “Neuroreceptors, dynamics and Functions” team) and Julie Kniazeff (IGF, IBMM), and Angelina Rogliardo (IGF, team headed by Philippe Marin), and Titiana Lipina (University of Toronto) were honored for their work using llama mini-antibodies to treat brain disorders (article published in Nature in 2025 https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-09265-8.pdf).

 

The laureates, represented by Pierre-André Lafon and introduced by their research supervisors, presented their research during a special public session at the Institut de France on June 16, 2026.
