Nathalie Malirat (Institute of Human Genetics), Aurélien Drouard (Institute of Functional Genomics), Marie-Elise Schwartz (TPS-AQUA) and Abdelkrim Mannioui (Institute of Biology Paris-Seine) work on aquatic species, and take part in CNRS regulatory training courses on animal experimentation at project designer level.
Together, they have developed XéMo, an educational xenopus model to replace the use of live animals in learning and practical training.
This collective initiative, which has led to a significant reduction in the number of animals needed for training, has now been hailed by the French 3R centre (FC3R).
